For years we have relied on flat 2D photographs to express what we wanted people to see related to our business environments. Golf clubs have not been any different to other industries in the way they used imagery to capture new customers.
With the introduction of computers things started to change. Businesses started to use other formats that were available to them such as 3D rendering. 3D rendering was quite a break through and allowed businesses to have a computer generated tour of their business.
3D Rendered Tours
This format was and still is very expensive to produce. 3D rendering is used in project examples of what a place will look like on completion of a project. The bigger problem with 3D rendered tours is that unfortunately everything looks fake. This in turn does not encourage customers to interact for very long with the tour.
Drone Tours
Though drone flyovers are quite common these days they leave a lot to be desired with regards to interaction. Most drone flyovers are a video taken by the drone flying from the tee over the fairway to the green and they fly left or right of the flag pole once arriving at the green.
The flyover’s become a little boring once you have seen several holes. So your potential customers lose interest in the tour. They lack interactivity for the end user, which loses their interest. Once the interest is gone they leave your site.
360 virtual tours are very different in the fact that they give a true representation of the area photographed and are fully interactive. Every node is different within the virtual tour which keeps visitors immersed within the tour. They can interact by zooming in and out, turn around and look up or down.
